1,000 Places to See Before You Fall Ill With the Dengue
In other exciting primetime developments, Melanie and Albin's TV show - 1,000 Places to See Before You Die - is set to debut March 29 on the Travel Channel.
Apparently, the opportunity to write about an attractive couple eating maggots is - in a word - irresistible to our proud press corps, so natch - the coverage is amping up. And where there's a NY Times wire feed, there's Captain Spicer. The good lady sent me this piece, and while I find it hard to find fault with anything put in print, I've got to take issue with at least one point. When Melly Mel remarks, "''I notice that I don't want to (do) drive-through coffee anymore," I trust that's not coming from the same Melly Mel who, shits no, exclaimed in happy surprise "Oh! You're at the drive-through Starbucks on Colfax! I love that place!" just last week when I called her to ask, among other things, if my car was blowing up because smoke was coming out of the hood. (Turns out no. When you get a carwash in below-freezing temperatures, apparently the moisture left on your engine forms what some call 'steam.' These are the kinds of things one learns after several months of jetsetting.)
Anys - I've been included on the Travel Channel party's guest list as a "very influential blogger," (trying to find a "very influential blogger hat" to wear to doubly-imprint this new identity) so will give you all the exciting and glamorous details after my hangover wears off on Thursday. Maggots, indeedy.
