Lemme Blow on Your Dice, Baby - My Luck's Durned Ridiculous
Pour yourself a bracing shot of scotch: I think I may have found a place for The Scarlet Conservatory. Herewith, the Craigslist details:
1400 SQ FT, FULLY REMODELED, Commercial space for rent, zoned B-4 1300sq ft main floor, plus 100+ sq ft private office loft with window and wiring.
Fully renovated and restored Victorian.
Former location of Wired on Welton internet coffee shop.
Located along Welton Commercial Corridor strip in Five Points, corner of 28th and Welton.
Directly across from light rail station, 8 blocks from LoDo.
Wired for internet and surround sound, burglar alarm
Modern and hip
Hardwood floors, exposed brick, Fully ADA compliant, patio seating available.
City designated seating capacity of 78
I don't want to say too much about it, because I might implode from excitement, but I love it, I love the owner (a girl from Buffalo who lives above with her contractor husband and unemployed baby), I love the price ($3/sq. ft. per year rather than the $6 I was steeling myself for) and I love the neighborhood. It's darling with an urban edge: just like-a me.
Granted, this isn't the only great news I've got going on the commercial real estate front. I have a meeting on Monday with a developer dude in town who has taken a personal and professional interest in helping me get this "thang" going. So, depending on what he says - and the properties he has that may work for me - the above might be moot, but I'll tell you something - I think that place is pretty kickawesome. So I'm sitting pretty over here.
Sitting.
Pretty.
Dagnabit - this turn of events made dragging my dehydrated, red-wine-hungover ass out of bed this morning at 7, scraping the car off and sliding down to Five Points sans coffee well worth the (considerable) effort. Mood? Very happy. Also helped by an afternoon matinee of my favorite movie, Fear with Marky Mark, on USA just now. Oh life is sweet!
