Local Artist Avoids Scandal With Conveniently Timed Overseas Trip
As the controversy over the Parks Department shut-down of the Brooklyn College MFA Thesis project roars like a blender full of rocks, foam and nudie man parts, our artist on the scene is...erm...most certainly off the scene. Indeed, CJ Ferrero has fled from ole minty back to the homeland, and is currently sunning himself on the piazzas of Roma...molto miles from the rage and turmoil of his fellow students. And though no one could doubt our man's support for this valiant fight, surely a fistful of gnocchi and a couple kegs of chianti might go far towards ameliorating the situation.
Just a thought.
The real point of all this brou-ha: Contact High, Carl's series of 30 watercolors (and part of the "The Mind/Body Problem" project), was chosen for exhibition at Fuori Uso 2006 in Pescara, Italy.
(Bust out your spectacles and take an extremely close look at number three. There's a mini-Bree in there just aching to tell you of her trip aboard the V ship. Pass the canaries.)
